If French Chantilly lace is likened to sweetened cream then Alencon is laces' Coq au vin.

Lace Primer I - Chantilly

Chantilly Lace....

We've heard the songs, novels, and legends about Chantilly...well what is the allure of Chantilly lace?

It's sheer, sexy, soft, lighter than beaded and corded lace.  It's fluid, drapes, clings on the bias and evokes French romance and sensuality.  It is from Chantilly, France (known for the manufacture of Chantilly lace). If that's not enough, then, it's delicate compared to heavier regal laces and well, again, it's sheer...lets a woman's character show. That's what I love about Chantilly.  It lends its' charm to the most demure bridal accessories (as shown in the photos...) or, well, the sexiest of lingerie. Make it what you want...nude, layered, lined, it's Chantilly, the best of delicate lace, demure, seductive, or, innocent.  A true fashion chameleon.  And remember, Chantilly, France, is not only known for its' lace but the invention of whipped cream, with sugar and vanilla of course.  If Chantilly lace were a food, It Is.... delicate vanilla laced cream.
