While perusing one of the charming antique shops in San Anselmo, Yankee Girl, I came across this little pair of mittens. Why did they beckon? Not my favorite colors, nor an unusual knitting technique, or probably not even hand knit, but, there was something that urged me to stop. The tag.
"pair of old children's mittens from the estate of the grand-daughter of Sinclair Lewis."
Now as far as the 1920's era, I'm an F. Scott Fitzgerald girl, but, anyone who can write the quote below in 1920, well that's an author to look up.
"She was not a respectable Married Woman but fully a human being."
